On Saturday 12th June I will be riding to Sammy Miller museum (www.sammymiller.co.uk) from Brands Hatch leaving approx 09:00 to get to SM approx 13:00 for a BBQ. If you would like to ride with me then please let me know. I will meet you outside of the main gates to the race circuit.

There is a car raceing going on that day so I am sure that you will be able to spot the motorcyclists there - see below for more details.
If anybody does come along with me then we will not be riding with the riders mentioned below.

If you live nearer to Sammy's and would like to meet us and KAMG at the museum then please pop along to help celebrate the KAMG's birthday celebrations

My local IAM bike group, Kent Advanced Motorcyclists Group, are celebrating their 30th birthday this year with a Ride Round Britain Tour, with approx 18 riders, for 5 days visiting IAM regions within England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

We were the first IAM motorcycle group and was setup by a few key members who wanted to take their motorcycling skills and experienced further and let others benefit from them. These founding members are still involved within the group today.
The Kent group became so big and popular that it expanded it split into a few the KAMG and EKAM (East Kent Advanced Motorcyclists).

I will be doing another posting within all UKGSer sections to advertise the 302010 Ride Round Britain Tour.

Hey Joe,

A few friends and I plan to visit Sammy Miller's this weekend, probably on Sunday though. I'll ask them if they're interested in visiting Saturday instead.

If we do go Saturday, we'd meet you at Sammy Miller's as we reside nearer and prefer an early start.

Richard.

Hope to see you at Sammy's. I am on a blue/white 1150GS.
Anybody else want to come along?

Will be around the Kent Advanced Motorcyclist Group and they should be displaying a Spinal Research banner as that is one of the charities that the ride out is promoting.

Hi Joe,

I found out this afternoon that a couple of my non-BMW GS mates are working Saturday so are unable to attend, so a mate on a 08 1200GS and I are riding to Bahnstormer to buy a plastic trim for his offside Vario pannier on Saturday instead.
He did a very dodgy overtake on a long straight and almost got sandwiched between two cars (the one he was overtaking and the car travelling in the opposite direction) - His offside pannier hit the on coming car door mirror. :yikes

Sorry Joe and good luck with the charity fund raising for Spinal Research.
Maybe we'll meet some other time.

Cheers,

RD.

Well, went to Sammy's today but not as expected.
One of the chaps on the Round Britain Ride R1 broke down on the way to the start line so got RAC out. The ride out started so I went to see how he was. Turns out that last week his battery kept on going dead so took it to a non Yamaha but decent dealer who replaced the battery. Electrics went today but RAC could not get the bike going so took it to the Yammie dealer at Brands. They say that the alternator has gone and it was this that was not charging the battery but cannot get part in until mid next week.

Somebody said that he could borrow their bike for the week but would not be back home until PM today so I took him as pillion over to Sammie and back.. Anyway, PM came and the loan of the bike offer has been withdrawn for some reason. So my friend has paid for 5 nights stay away, been waiting a year for this event and has got no bike so cannot partake.

I have told him to ask Coopers BMW in Kent and Vines in Caterham to see if they can loan him a demo bike out of the goodness of their heart for the week.
