Samsung Kies update.

I am trying to update my Galaxy SII to run Jelly bean 4.1.2 on Samsung Kies, unfortunately Kies is telling me that 4.0.4 is the latest update available.

The phone updated from 2.? To 4.0.4 ok but I thought the update would have been Jelly Bean 4.1.2.

Is Kies running the Jelly Bean update in the UK for the Galaxy SII.

It may be that jelly bean isnt available for your version of S2?

What if you go into the SETTINGS > ABOUT DEVICE > SOFTWARE UPDATE > UPDATE it will tell you if there are any updates available.

I think Samsung also stagger the upgrade and wont let every device upgrade at the same time

Are you running the latest version of KIES 2.5.2.13021_10...?

The S2 (GT-I9100G) is compatible with Jellybean 4.1.2....

By the seems of it, yes, it may be down to the fact Samsung have a controlled rollout. I'll have to check my test one and see what software is on there......I know when it upgraded last time my mates were weeks in front of mine.

Not sure what Odin is?
My device is a Samsung X Cover, GT-S5690, which i believe is the same as a Galaxy S2
Just checked mine, its 2.3.6 and there's no updates available
I think it is still on Gingerbread

4.2 is the latest level of Jelly Bean

5.0 is Key Lime Pie

Looks a bit complicated for a techno phoebe. Think I might wait until Kies has it as a upgrade!!

Depends on service provider not Samsung. I'm on tmobile and they say there is no time line for when JB will be available.

I'd like to root my S2 but on a mac it's not as easy as a win pc. Unless anyone knows different?

Is this an unbranded phone? If it's branded you might never get JB. Unlocked isn't the same as unbranded by the way. Branded the carrier approves the update unbranded it's all Samsung.

I'm on O2, jelly bean won't be released by O2 yet, update will be via Samsung Kies when available.

I've just done that on my S2 and it states it is up to date.
Mine is also an O2 phone.

I've not used Kies in ages, tis more trouble than it is worth imho.
Looks like I may have to install it again.

Just got a Samsung Note 10.1 and upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 this evening.
