Hi All,
We are hoping to end up here in the early part of July for a few days before getting the Santander ferry back home on the 10th.
Can anyone recomend somewhere nice to stay, idealy quiet and close to the water. Hotel, B&B or villa.
Cheers
Bob

A group of us stayed in this hotel. Great Underground car park, very safe. Booked them via the web.

I should add, it's not really near the water, but it is very quiet. Probably 2-300 yards from the main town.

Hotel Noray just on edge of town in a back street basic B & B hotel but we found it comfy and nice underground garage and no charge for it.Probably 5 minutes walk from the town centre looks out over the fishing quay.

I wouldn't go there again. There are far better places

My report on Trip Advisor.

The rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. The secure garage was a bonus for parking our motorbikes and the breakfast was reasonable.

The bad bits.

The manager and his wife were very sullen, not once did I seee them smile even though we were polite towards them. The manager was a bit of a caveman, he grunted more than he spoke! We came back one night and asked for some drinks, which were served. When we had finished them and asked for more he refused to serve us, stating that there were children in bed and we might wake them up. We weren't making any noise apart from usual chatter.

The next night we came back to the hotel later than the previous evening and there were young children running around everywhere, screaming and shouting. Again, we were refused drinks. Why? It seems there was one rule for the Spanish and another for the English.

Woud I go there again? No..

San vicente is a nice wee place there's a hotel just over the bridge if ur heading west can't remember the name but its real nice and good value just over the big bridge if heading west it's on right hand side.....

Hello there,
I've stayed in the Hotel Bahia in Santander a few times. The rooms are great and the parking is secure. I think we paid about £90 a night for a double room and that included the parking. It's straight across from the ferry terminal.
At the other end of the scale, I've also stayed in the bungalow huts up at the campsite next to the lighthouse. Again, pretty good and a fair bit cheaper.

Hotel Bahia I would recommend it. Safe underground car park and central

Evening All,
Thanks for all the replies, now booked into the Hotel Azul de Galimar.
Can't wait, we are growing webbed feet down here!

I've shamelessly tagged on to the recommendation for San Vicente de la Barquera when I'm heading down that way in a few weeks. Looks a nice place :)
