Knowing what gourmet types we have on here, a question.

I've been asked to come up with a new sandwich for a supermarket.
Something not currently offered.
Something with a bit of a wow factor, taste wise.
Buyers of premade sandwiches tent to be conservative, afraid to try anything too different so the description can't frighten them off. :banghead:

Any ideas?
What do ye like?

Free Jumbo Sandwich to the person whose suggestion is the one chosen. (to be collected :D)

This might sound dodgy, and probably won't work for a pre packed sambo... but... ham, cheese, banana & crisps. Delicious. :drool

Philadelphia (other prodcuts are available) and blackcurrant jam or more traditionally chicken, sweet chili sauce, mayo and lettuce.

Excellent. :clapThanks. Some a little outside the conservative :D but interesting from a catering point of view, though.
Keep them coming. :roll

Double Gloucester cheese, tomato and baby spinach with mayonnaise and a garlic olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing on wholemeal bread. :drool

mozzarella, Parma Ham, Sundried Tomatoes, on ciabatta, with a couple of basil leaves, even better served warm, but not terribly original.

Or Escolope of Chicken (breaded) with ground black pepper, and lemon juice, with pama ham again on ciabatta, good hot or cold.

Pilchards in tomato sauce with cucumber, tabasco & black pepper. All on wholemeal bread.

Maybe a little anchovy for added kick:)

Another brie one, Brie, sliced green apple and slided green grapes on Granary.Yum.....

A contradiction surely. If they want something conservative (ie they don't like change, and will tend to stick to what they know) then it can't be "new". Can it? :nenau

Brie and red grapes on white bloomer. :)
Agreed ... but I'm sure I've seen them advertised before, so that's fallen at the first hurdle. Still a bloody good sandwich mind you. :thumb2

nicest sandwich I ever had.... but took a photo cause I laughed at the name..

its a bit blurry.. but says "crouching tiger , hidden bacon"

pepper jack cheese, boiled ham AND bacon, with herbs and onion baked inside a bagette......

my cholesterol went up just reading the description of it..

:drool
