Hotel Santemar near the El Sardinero beach was a nice hotel, especially as it was funded with reward points from hotels.com - decent standard rooms recently updated. Food & drink prices are not great value, they want €25 for the breakfast buffet. No worries, just across the road that leads to the beach is a row of bars & cafes. At least half opened for breakfast. Pastry & coffee €4.20.
This was a pleasant location to spend an evening. Mill about the promenade, have a couple of beers and select where you want to have dinner. Not such good value today, but it is by the beach in a holiday resort.
You are just a 2 mile (well 3 due to the one way system) ride to the port entrance for the ferry check in.
