Sargeant Seat

IMHO its not just whether it is gell or not that makes a difference but the shape of the seat itself. From day one I had to put the original seat high at the front and low at the back to get any sort of comfort at all. Even with this I could always feel pressure on my sitting bones and after two hours they were burning. I have none of this with the Sargeant seat and I can feel an even pressure all over my derier and not just the bones. Downside of the Sargeant seat is it uses normal vinyl instead of the rubbery type the original has so I find I slide about on the seat a bit more. Have to agree they are expensive and I might have went the recover and reshape myself if I hadn't got one second hand but I did and the difference is very clear to me.

Just went out and took a couple of pics for you. This is the low seat as well for ref. Excuse the dirt but its a daily use bike :augie

Sargent Seat

Given that the standard GSA seat height is 890 / 910mm does anybody know what that seat height is with a low Sargent seat fitted?

One more question..

.. where to buy from?

I see Nippy Norman sell them- or best to go to Sargent directly?

Cheers,
Rob :beerjug:

gr8roberto -I bought mine direct from Calamander in December and they arrived in 2 days, even though it was an order for a particular colour piping. Very good service.

Have a look at these images below (though this is my first attempt at posting images - so stand well back!!)

Blimey! Pictures worked. Meant to add that the rider's seat is the standard height option.

Thanks for all the help folks :thumb2

got mine recovered and gel inserts £160 the pair all told

did 4000 miles in 14 days last sept no problem, lot cheaper than a sargent and looks good with yellow pipeing

I had Sargents on my 1200GSA, and now on my 1150.

They are expensive, but you can get most of your money back.

Recover the original seats for £160 and let the customized seats go with the bike when you sell

or

buy for £560 (if you can't find secondhand) and put the originals back on when/if you sell the bike. Good condition Sargents will easily fetch £400 on here or e bay.

All IMHO of course

Mike
