Sargent heated seats and Hex Ezcan.

In the process of buying a set of sargent heated seats for my 2017 Triple Black GSA. The seats come with a rats nest of wiring, a fuse and a relay plus the two heat controllers. I would prefer to “simplify” the seats fitting by using a Hex EZcan but before I proceed thought I would see if any forum members have carried out the same or similar. Would using a Hex device negate the need for the fuse and relay? Would each seat have its own individual connection to the Easycan? Thought it better to ask before starting work!

Depends on what else you might be using or want to use the eZcan for as it only has 4 outputs, and of those only two have high current outputs. I don't have the figures to hand, but they may be something like 4A low and 10A high per output, but I think there is also an overall current limit across the device, so I don't think you can use all four at their max stated output. Best thing is to go on their website and download the manual.

Regarding individual outputs per seat, it depends on the seat's current ratings. It may be that you could run them both off one output - I assume both seats have individual on/off switches (part of the controllers?) which you would have to retain even if junking the relay and fuse.

Hello i have just done the very same 2 heated jackets 1 heated seat , make sure you get version 2 , i found the seat was only pulling about 3.5 amps but the jackets about 7 , so you can set the version 2 so all the conections are accessory, the jackets would not work with the jacket temp controls so had to put a link wire in place of them

There is an alternative device with more outputs mentioned before on the forum. Maybe see if anybody has feedback on that too.

They have six outlets and perfect if you simply want to power accessories. The downside is that you have to tap in to the wiring for the switched live.

I used one on my '63 & '67 bikes and would have used on my 1250, but the space I wanted to put it was occupied with the factory alarm so in the end I fitted a Hex EZcan.
