Does anyone have a Sargent seat and does it fit ok? I have just bought a front Sargent seat using the standard rear seat and a cannot get it to lock. It dosent matter how hard i push down on the pillion seat it will not catch to lock. Any ideas? I have tried taking the bump stop rubbers off but still no joy.

The front part has no lock, the locking tag is on the rear seat. The rear seat locks both if you know what i mean. And yes the rear seat will lock without the front fitted.

I should know that. Had at least 3 x R1250R/RS.
Have you got a picture of the underside of both riders seats.

It might jog someone’s memory.

I am now in contact with Sargent seats who want pictures of everything. Very efficient so far.

Update, seat now returned and a full refund given. It turns out the two lugs on the Sargent seat are in the wrong place so the square lugs on the pillion seat dont sit inside them. The pillion seat will not go low enough to lock. A bad batch i think so i presume the others will be ok. Good service by Sargent and Adventure Bike rider.

I had one on loan and didn't have any problem locking it. However I could get on with the seat, opted in the end for the BMW 1250RS Sport seat. Highly recommended. Ebay purchase for around £150.

Have you gone for another seat? I'm torn which way to go, the Wunderlich looks good, high seat (840mm) is supposed to better than STD (820mm) can't figure Sergants sizing. Don't want a cover on top of seat either, not a fan of those.

I went for the Wunderlich Low seat which was the most uncomfortable seat i have had on a Bike. It went back and im sticking with the standard BMW seat. It could do with being a tad lower but its ok.
