I got a Sargent seat last week, and have been trying to like it. I'm fine for around an hour or so, but then the behind starts hurting.

I'm a slightly biggish (6'3"), I've lowered the foot pegs, but still with no prevail.

Reading about all these people who adore their Sargent I am hoping that it the seat will become more comfortable but I am starting to doubt - I'm kind of lacking support for the back of the butt, and the "design" of the back of the seat is stopping me from moving the last 1/2" back which would help.

I've done approx 1000km on it now, and it still very unpleasant after an hour or so.

Comments please.

I have exactly the same problem - so much so that I have swapped back to the original seat for my trip to Le Mans tomorrow.

got to admit, neither of the above posts bode well for the future.

my Sargent got better with a 1000 or so miles use, but was better than stock, by some way, right from the off.

Found mine a definite improvement over stock from the start and with use it's got better.

Did 545 miles in a day a few weeks back with the seat and while I knew it had been a long day it was not causing me serious pain.

The first vulture begins to circle!

If you really are struggling and wish to offload your Sargent, vfeel free to get in touch:D

It might come to that, kind of expensive to have sitting around for no reason at all.

I'll try to switch back to the stock to see it that is better.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. I'm probably switching to the stock seat for my trip to Norway this Sunday. And in the mean time I'll see if I can get my hands on an AirHawk.

Also I've seen (not on the GS), that sitting on a towel might help - on my previous bike (Triumph Sprint ST 2005) I had pain, but as with the GS stock seat there was space to move around which meant that a 1000km day was not always fun, but I could at least distribute the pain.

Love the GS though, awesome bike, does everything I can ask of it....

With the stock seat, I manage about 70 miles before my butt starts to hurt. With (Thunders) Sargent, I managed 310 miles and was only getting sore in the last 10/15 miles. This prompted me to order my own and it's not been a disappointment.

I've now got a butt like a 10 year old boy........:aidan

I think it's a combination of arm length, leg length, and size of body. I'm not small (hate to admit that) and I need a bit more space to feel comfortable than most people. I'll give the stock another go, and maybe try a TT seat, it looks (from photos) like it gives a bit more space to move backwards.

If your seat is the low version and you don't want it .. FIRST DIBS PLEASE :thumb2

Right, I gave up, the stock is back on - not pleasant, but better for me than the Sargent.

Next step is to try a TT seat, they look slightly flatter than both the Sargent and the stock - maybe I'll be lucky. Otherwise there is always the AirHawk.
