Causweay closed from 09:45 to 13:40

By the time ye get on there and hae a wee swatchie it wid be about 3pm fur tae start heading back withoot a bite tae eat as only the Priory is open:(

If anyone is around a fancies a local ride leaving from the BMW dealership in Dalkeith down to the Holy Island on a selection of the great back roads in the Borders (hopefully the weather will be ok).....

its because of the chance to ride on some different roads that I fancy this rideout and personally I am not worried whether we manage Holy Island or not (Been there once anyway).

Will make a Boxertools meet some Sunday this year.

I'll find oot later today if I get the tickets for the Man United game or no'.

I really fancy a run to the Holy Island but if the causeway isnae open, I'll pass this time. I havenae been afore and want the whole jingbang IYKWIM. Apart fae that my bike is 500 miles over her service so a trip up tae Stanley will need to made soon, possibly that weekend.

Conspiracy theorists please note that this isnae a slap in the puss for Garfield's run.

:beerjug:

So what time are you going to be at Lindesfarne ?

Might see if I can get the tractor started, and if I can, I might take a wee run up to blow the cobwebs out ;)

It'll need to be sunny and also only if those white Alpine Star boots that Sgt. Bilko is sending me arrive

garfield I think you may need some help from this fella:D

What's the score?

There's a few of us from the Northeast section planning on having a run up to see yuz.

:nenau

ok here's the plan

10.00 - meet at MCE in Dalkeith, have a canny ride down through the Borders to Bamburgh for some lunch at 12'ish

Lunch Stop at the Bamburgh Castle Inn

Seahouses,
Northumberland
NE68 7SQ

Tel: (01665) 720 283

the Causeway at Lindisfarne opens around 13.30, if anyone fancies a toodle up for a look around that would be good, and then home by whatever route works best....:thumb

So how does this work as a plan

On the Bamburgh Castle Inn's website there's mention of a "sister pub" this is The Lindisfarne Inn and is right on the junction of the A1/Holy Island turn-off.

Just a thought....

:D

:augieBut..... Seahouses might be better for those wanting fish & chips and if the Inn can't fit us in, as Seahouses has plenty of cafes and a few pubs...

I phoned the Bamburgh Inn fella and he was happy to fit a group in without a booking, besides it means I get to see Bamburgh Castle too, there's not much left for me to see in Englandshire after next weekend....:P
