Sat 7th March: Ride to Holy Island

I have checked and I have an appointment at Cameron Toll at 9 with the bank. I shall come on straight to MCE then and hope to arrive before 10

If I miss you what route do you plan and I will hope to catch up with you.......or find you at your coffee stop, if you tell me where that will be.....

obviously not a detective then :D:D:D

see post#53

Weather has been sunny and mild today, roads good.

Tomorrow's forecast similar, worst of the weather in the west, so you'll get wet on the way down and the way back.

But at least its dry in Northumberland:thumb

ok here's the plan

10.00 - meet at MCE in Dalkeith, have a canny ride down through the Borders

Canny ride sounds fine as I am on brand new Tourances after my 2 year service this afternoon at MCE. Did think my rear looked a bit worn and that was confirmed by technician :( I knew it wouldn't last long but the tread seems to have disappeared rather rapidly in the last couple of hundred miles  It came with Bridgestone Battlewings and while I liked them in the dry I wasn't so confident with them in the wet. Hopefully the Tourances will give better grip and last longer.

So just refitting the top H&B engine bars after a check on the condition of the fuel pump controller and some generous application of FC50 in that area.

Weather forecast not that great but quite used to riding in the rain. Maybe one day we will get a nice sunny ride out

See you all tomorrow morning.

Iain

Ian did you get the old tourance or the EXP if the EXP watch them as the go off somethin rotten:(

Lindesfarne.....!

I canna make it my HP2's stuck in Dalkeith getting its warranty work done......!

Its clouding over and looks like rain here on the Berwickshire/East Lothian border but it might stay 'fair'!

Have a good one and watch out on that slippy causeway....!:thumb2

Oh No...I'm too late

Grrrrrr, found this post too late to go. Although maybe a blessing in disguise as I don't fancy riding any distance until I replace the factory low seat with a corbin or similar. '08 GS and a saddle with no padding, I mean really, no padding at all. My poor bot, (read, lardy arse) is still sore 24 hours after a 25 mile journey!!! Any advise on best place to get a better front seat greatly appreciated. Can't wait to meet you all on the next run.

Seeing as how it was Garfield what started all this:
