Well done Squid :thumb2 it looks like a really nice place, and going by the pictures, not too far to go for a morning swim :augie

i might try the bunk house... anyone up for sharing a room :thumb please no snorers:D:D:D
friday and saturday night ?
how about a mid night swim:D:D

That's alright then. I thought maybe he knew something we don't.

I have to confess, though, the last time I camped in the winter (New Year's Eve) was in 1984. I've a bit more inbuilt insulation now but my blood's a bit thinner too!

I don't like being cold but I won't be - I'll be as snug as a bug:thumb

If Jez clarkson can camp in the North Pole and tramps sleep in cardboard boxes I'm sure I can survive the lake district.

312 ounds per night in tent ..
£13 under cover:D

oh the tent been around a little bit...but can stand up to most things.
:D:D built very well it is:thumb:thumb

£9 unless we can convince them we're backpacking using motorbikes, when it'd be just £6.

£4 saving per night to be spent on beer tokens. Or maybe a hook up for an electric blanket.

camping

i'll stick with the camping option, but the tent will be close to the bunk house, you all just know when it starts the lash it down there will be a mad scramble to the bunk house door!!

I like home comforts and my tent is my home from home:augie

Terry will wish he'd camped out too when at 3am he opens his eyes to find his bunkhouse companion softly blowing in his ear:eek::D

If you're refering to the spot of drizzle we've had recently its not a problem.

I will pitch my tent on top of a dingy and tether it to a tree:D

It can only rain so much - can't it:eek

Have you picked out the lanes yet. I was going to say mark them on garmin and I'll add in the road sections but you are paper only aren't you?

Has anyone seen the long-range forecast? It hasn't stopped raining here for several days and we're one of the driest areas of the UK. The Lakes are not reknowned for drought are they?

You did ask:D

The camping idea was for the challenge:augie

Monday 21st January 2008 to Sunday 27th January 2008

"Dry spells at a premium as rain continues to fall."
No signs of high pressure bringing a prolonged spell of settled weather. Low pressures will continue to keep a mobile, unsettled theme to the weather pattern throughout the period.
Temperatures will stay well above average in all parts of the British Isles, but this is unlikely to be due to copious amounts of sunshine. The brightest spots are likely to be north and east Scotland.
Rainfall totals will be above average in Wales, Northern Ireland, western Scotland and most of England. They may well become well above average across the far northwest of Scotland. All other parts will be somewhat drier.

Monday 28th January 2008 to Sunday 10th February 2008

“Staying unsettled, potential for stronger winds.”
The early part of February may well be marked by strong winds and gales as low pressure continues to bring spells of wet and windy weather to many areas. Temperatures will again be at least above average if not well above average, both by day and night. Sunshine amounts, however, could well be disappointing for western parts of the British Isles.

Will mid-February bring change to the unsettled spell? Find out more next week.
