real easy problem I'm sure, but having missed a point on a route, its always trying to turn you around to go back and hit it.... How do you get it to move on? I'm a very basic user :driving:yelrotflm

Use the skip function if you miss a waypoint, what is really frustrating is that the device doesnt give any indication that you have missed a point, apart from the arrival time increasing and verbal directions if you have a bluetooth headset stop. (If you turn off recalculate which is how mine is now set)

So when you are running a route the skip touch icon is hidden from the main screen on my 590 there are 3 horizontal bars on the map screen lower RHS click that which brings up 8 options Skip option is on the top row. A bit faffy if you are in traffic id suggest pulling over somewhere safe and sorting it. You will know when you have cleared it when the device directs you where you should be going and uturns dissapear.

Have you tried the 'Prompted' option that will show a warning that covers most of the screen and with two buttons where you may choose recalculation or not?

This is where the Navi 5/6 shines, since you may put two buttons on the screen, thus avoiding the need to open a menu. Even better, the buttons are hidden until you have missed a turnoff, so if there is no missed waypoint behind you the Skip button is hidden. Though, doesn't help you much if you have the 590 :beerjug:

I used to use the prompted option but if you go off route the recalculate prompt fills the map screen blocking any visual direction, this tends to happen on motorway junctions sometimes when there is a sudden extra junction/slip road to negotiate. I also found trying to tap the "no" icon took two or three attempts before clearing which is too much distraction.

Recalculate is now switched off, this way the device doesnt alter your route as recalculate does. If i do miss a junction and go off route no problem i can zoom out on the map and direct myself back towards the majenta line. One thing to note with recalculate switched off there are no verbal or directional instructions until you are back on the majenta.

Glad you are happy with the Navi ;)
