Has anyone fitted a cradle for the Nav II onto a non bmw bike...looking to fit one onto a Husqvarana TE610E...

Hi Nadeem,

Have you looked at the RAM mounts for it? I`ve got one for my 2610 & it`s very good IMO :thumb

Sounds to me like you need to upgrade to the far superior 2610, it fits in the car too ;)

The Sat Nav II does as well...thinking about it...it should work without the extra buttons on the cradle....a ram mount might be the solution...

So does the Nav.II.

Nav.II will fit any 12v bike, just use a clamp around the bars & a Ram Mount:

I take it you took the bar mount bit off the bmw cradle and added the ram mount on...? I was going to let the dealer do it...can you tell me how much time/difficulty is involved...?

I've got a simple RAM mount for a 2610 on my TTR. I hard-wired a cigar lighter socket to the battery with 2amp fuse and duct taped that to the frame. Then used my Nav II with the Cigar-socket power lead tucked under the seat - a bit of duct tape to secure the power lead into the socket (and keep the water out). Allows me to quickly swap from TTR to 1200.
Hmm, maybe a photo when I get home will explain that better

Very easy:

Bolt u-clamp around handlebars.

Unbolt the Nav.II mount/consol from the clamp on its rear - i.e. the four countersunk screws you can see in the pic.

Using new stainless screws, I bolted the ball mount on to the rear of the Nav.II consol - see first pic.

The plastic arm comes in two heights, I've got the short one although I may try the longer one at some point.

Not even 30 minutes work. I used slightly longer countersunk screws so that I could use full depth stainless nylocs on the back without running out of thread.

Nadeem..I believe I have a u-bolt fixing and a three inch arm flaoting arond somewhere...then all you'd have to find id the ball and plate on the back of your cradle if you haven't got one already.

The hard wiring to the bike would take only minutes and the bits are available from t'internet or Tractor shops very cheaply...there's a John Deere place down on the road through Horton Kirby that should stock them.

Let me know if you want me to dig the arm and u bolt out ;)

Thanks Clive,
so essentially I can wire the Sat Nav II up with the cigar lighter lead wired up to an in line fused lead going to the battery...and use the ram mount parts to mount it.

Yep. I've not had much practice on the TTR recently - I'm out on the Ridgeway this afternoon for a while, but I'll also be on the TTR on Sunday (Tank Tracks) - you can inspect it then - just ignore my dodgy soldering ;)
