I want to wire my Tom Tom in to the existing wiring on the 1200 GSA

There is a socket under the beak to take said appliance

Before I charge off and order the plug to go into the socket does any
one know of an alternative to the £15 plus post BMW item
(83300413585)

£15 plus post seems a little excessive for what appears to be ........

You could break into the wiring feeding said plug socket but then you would have to make good when you want to sell the bike. The bmw plug is the exact thing you need for the job at hand. Again, when you sell the bike in the future, you may be able to sell the plug to some one like your good self who flinches at the BMW price.

You are right I don't want to cut into the wiring

I recently swapped my spots over to LED
I needed 2 plugs to do the job
The BMW parts were over £24
A member on here pointed me in the direction of same plug £2 delivered

It may well be that the BMW plug is individual to BMW and is only available to them
If so I will purchase it from them
However if it is a part used in Ford fiestas and available for a couple of quid
and some one here has used it
Roberts yer uncle :D

Take the part number to a BMW car dealer and let them order it for you I got one this way a couple of years less than £10

A cheap method is to tin the two wires with a soldering iron, then jam them in the correct holes. Wrap it all in tape to weather proof it and hold it together.

I just wired the satnav straight to the battery - very easy to do and has the advantage of the satnav staying on when the engine is turned off.
