Got myself a new SatNav unit (TomTom 550 Rider) and was wondering where other F800GS riders have mounted their SatNav units. I've previously had mine on the headstock but I've seen some 'over the instrument cluster' options and I'm tempted but just not sure 🤔

I used the Wunderlich kit to relocate satnav above TFT screen. Very happy with it.

I have got a "proper" mount in the garage I think. If you're interested
Same as this I think
Let me know if you're interested and I'll go digging in the garage :)
That's the same as I've used on previous bikes, if you're looking to shift it then I'd certainly be interested 👍

Was it easy to fit? I helped a friend fit an "over the instruments" mount today on their Tiger 900 and it was a right faff. Looks alright once fitted though but the owner now thinks that the GPS unit will get in the way (vision) as they've got a low seat version of their bike. 🤔

The Wunderlich kit was very easy to fit. No more than 10 minutes. I bought it from Nippy Norman. It places the satnav right where it needs to be.

Hi Shimster

Found it! Buried in my box of "bike bits"...

bmw f800 nav mount.jpg

Hardly used (I only had my 800GS for a short time)! It's a genuine BMW one, seems to be part # 7 697 718 - altho the part # does not reveal much on t'interweb. It seems to fit other things too "BMW Navigation Mount S1000r F700gs F650gs F 800 GS" - so basically all the parallel twins before the chinky version... and the s1000r which is a surprise!

I don't seem to be able to PM you?

Let me see if I need to flick a switch to allow PMs

I have an evotech mount above the tft on my Tiger 900 Rally Pro. It was very, very easy to fit. I powere it from the USB port under the rear seat. This is a switched live that only becomes live once the engine is running, not on ignition. The whole job, fitting evotech mount, wiring in took just under 30 minutes. Our coffee that I made at the start was still drinkable. I would recommend this system. A really well made and easy to fit piece of kit. Now been on coming up three years and never moved. I do also have a quad lock phone mount on the bars. Again very easy to fit.
