My very first R100gs was also a j reg in red, it's an old nail now living in Wales and off the road. Nice to see one being kept alive and given new lease of life.

Flywheel off and remove the oil pump,
All good here

Next up ,remove timing chain etc,
Out with The camshaft.

Tomorrow’s job,heat up the crankcase,get the crank out.
Then see about getting that seized stud out.

I eventually stopped procrastinating and made a start stripping the wheels.
Cut the spokes with an angle grinder

Not too bad this one.only an hour to strip it
The rim can go for polishing,and the hub can be vapour blasted
