Saving and emailing routes

Tried searching but no joy. Can anyone point me to a thread or tell me how to save a route and email it to a friend using Basecamp for Mac?

Sorry I don't have basecamp or a mac,

However create a route and save the file without the maps, go to your mail program and add the file as an attachment.

Should be easy, and hey, its a mac so it should be very easy
