Hi, I have an original Nav6 and had few problems with it over the years. But today when saving an upcoming Trip's route files from my PC using My-Route-App where they were planned, I found that all Shaping Points became Waypoints and vice versa when transferred and opened on the Nav6. Never had this problem before and wondered if others have.

Once on the Nav6 I can manually change them individually to what I want, but I've 10 long journeys to work on, with plenty of Shaping Points to keep me on the right roads, so don't really want to do this.

Amongst the journeys some have up to 80 Shaping Points while a couple only having about 10 and those with 80 have been split with Waypoints every 10 Shaping Points.

I tried restarting the Nav6, MRA App and PC but no improvement and have confirmed I've been using HERE Maps and also tried saving them with Garmin (Old) GPX 1.0, Garmin GPX 1.1, plus BMW Motorbike GPX 1.2. In the past always using Garmin (Old) 1.0 without problems.

Anyone got suggestions as to the cause of this?

Thanks.

Would it be worth downloading Basecamp and seeing what that does with your routes?

Thanks, it's something to try if I have no luck with other things. Never used Basecamp though I did download it once and soon switched back to MRA.

One thing that I have found is that the Routes all download without problem to my TomTom 550.

Another point being that because the Nav6 sees the files as having a lot of Via (Waypoints) rather than in combination with Shaping Points, it then breaks the Files down into multiple smaller Routes as soon as it sees more than 29 Via points.

If all else fails I will have to use the TomTom though would prefer the Nav6, being integrated into the GS system.

Next step is to try rebooting the Nav6 after removing and replacing the Battery.

Problem resolved by switching to Laptop on Win11 from old PC on Win10 (Not that it should matter) and saving as GPX1.1 Files.

Better check using the old set-up just incase it was something else causing the problem.

Hi, did you return to try and ascertain what the issue was? I have a bikermate that is currently having similar issues. He has a Mac though.

If exporting from MRA check what GPX file version he is using. There is a warning about this in the MRA export menu.

I had a similar issue (Mac) then realised this (and explained similar issues I’ve had prior to MRA).

You need to export the correct gpx version for the device you are loading the file too. Gpx 1.0 or 1.1 for Nav V and VI, Gpx 1.2 works fine on XTs, and garmin apps such as drive and motorize.

Thanks, gents. He is using 1.1 but the similarities are striking. I'm popping round today to use my Win 11 laptop.
I'm a MacBook user, have recently given routes to a few mates for a ride we did, I exported theirs as 1.1 and they loaded no issues, I exported my route using 1.2 via garmin drive to my xt and all was good

Unfortunately not, due to other non related problems with WiFi, I dumped that PC and bought a new one that is loaded with Win 11 and since using gpx1.1 there haven't been any more problems.
