Yep......very niceView attachment 272557
On rare window in the weather over the weekend I came across this beautiful thing.
It may have inspired me to blow the dust off my Road King (which has been asleep since last October) if it stops pissing down.![]()

A lovely thing
Many years ago, I had an Evo' and my mate had a shovelhead, we went all over on them. I always expected my mate's bike to explode as it rattled and knocked plus it burnt oil, but on and on it went. EVENTUALLY he decided to rebuild the motor. On pulling it apart, bearings and bits of metal just fell out of it, God knows how it ever ran, never mind reliably.
I was impressed and unimpressed all at the same time.....![]()

Pans, shovels, knuckles...those early Harley engines have such elegant lines. Cracking.
I'm not keen on the seat & exhaust but lob on some touring hard bags and what's not to like ?View attachment 272557

That’s a simple question with a HUGE answer……..Nice one, thanks Vern.
What should I get though? Not the faintest idea about Harleys.
Only criteria are must be big to fit me, and an affordable base bike.

Will you be touring on it ?
Road King Special. Spent a few quid getting it comfy plus new suspension. I would say it's spot on now. My most used bike.Long weekends solo are a possibility. But gentle B and N roads, not peage.
Main thing is I’m 6’3” with long legs and dodgy hips so needs to be comfy.
What do you run Doc?

Arsey had one and he's a tall bloke.
Maybe have a look at a 1200. My mate has one and loves it and regularly rides down to Spain on it.That looks like a proper Harley. Probably a bit beyond my means at present.
