My dealer had a screenshot of the new R1300GS on his mobile today. It was from the BMW Motoradd UK Marketing person. It was the front page of the dealer pack being sent soon. It showed the bike in what looked like Rallye colours with black cast wheels. The headlight, which has always been covered on the test bikes, looks brilliant as it’s like a cross made out of led’s. Hard to explain but it looked really good.

He has taken 15 deposits already. He could have 16 very soon….

How much does the bike weigh?
The Australian type approval paperwork says 237 kilo, 12 kilo lighter than the current bike. The European type approval says 250 kilo, 1 kilo heavier than the current bike but they approximate rider and luggage weight.....so make your choice, I guess!

Aussies quoting dry weight, Eurotwats kerb weight 90% fuelled up maybe?

If the convict bike is lighter, I’m gonna buy it that one. What with my tosser weight I should break even if I buy a uk bike for the weight limit

Oddly, the rad guards are an evolution of the pre facelift 1200/1250.

What a shit looking headlight.

No amber DRLs. A Bike Thing will be disappointed.

Have you been spying somewhere?

In these pics, it is looking rather pig ugly. That front end is hideously unlike GS that one does imagine.
