Just to let you know i had a small problem with one of my metal panniers i bought from SBW. Called in and spoke to Mike Hudson (Parts Manager) and he said drop it round my house (as he only lives a few miles from me) and i will look at it.

Droped it round his house at 22.00, and he called me the next day to let me know what he had done to fix it.

He then dropped it back round my house.

Where else can you go and get a fast and friendly service like that.

It only goes to prove that Mike Hudson of Sawbridgeworth BMW - SBW MOTORRAD, Hertford is a TOP bloke.

I bought my bike form them earlier this year and i can only praise them.

Welldone to all the SBW team.

:bow :clap :bow :clap :bow :clap :bow :clap :bow :clap :bow :clap

Glad to hear someone's had some sense out of them.

Personally I think they're a shower of shite (please feel free to email me on [email protected] if you feel hard done by guys).

There was the test ride bike with no petrol. The warantee work that couldn't be done until after the warantee had expired.

The last time I went in there will absolutely be the last time ever. Three people behind the counter, manager, monkey and new girl. Both the guys were so busy drooling over the girl that I walked out after standing there like a dohnut for ten mins. Yes, I did make it clear that I was waiting, etc.

Tw@s.

one man's pleasure, another mans pain, i guess. never had a problem with the service. Didnt get on with one of the ex-salesmen, but he's gone now tho...

I had an email from a guy at SBW today who had read this thread and seemed genuinely concerned by my comments.

I thanked him in my email and I would like to thank him here as well. Hopefully, for the sake of their business, my experiences don't reflect every customer's...

my local lot, know Mike, top bloke, top d'ship....
even when I take my "cheapie" r1100gs in there. They have been v helpful sine i got my first K75 years and years ago..... :thumb

Yup they even had a go at BMW UK over an issue regarding a part for an eleven year old F650. They got hold of the guy incharge of the main parts inventory to point out the mistake, and where totally embarresed they couldn't help me more due to BMW UK's mistake.

The mistake was ... they had one of the bearing sleeves for the supension listed with the same number as the bearing. Hence the bearing kept arriving , which I had , but no new sleeve. Kept the bike off the road for over a month... but every weel I got told they where still chasing the issue, and in the end they gave uop and refunded the pennies I had already paid with no quibble.

They have my thumbs up.

Sawbridgeworth

With regards to Sawbridgeworth, I've been satisfied with their work to date.

I've always owned Hondas before this bike, and one of the reasons I considered a BM was their reputation for quality, reliable bikes and good dealer service. Honda had provided excellent service that I can't praise enough, and I've only really changed as my Honda dealer closed.

Reliability is pretty essential for me, so I wanted to be sure the new dealer would be helpful in terms of services, problem fixes etc. I'm not expecting something for nothing, and if the service is good then I'm happy. So far it has been. (So far is 2 services over 8500 miles since May)

It isn't cheap, but quality rarely is.

Good job, Mikey

I've used SBW (the dealership formerly known as Sawbridgeworth) for about 6 years now, and have always found them to be efficient, knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant to deal with. Mike however (IMHO), is a standout and deserves a special mention.

I've always quite enjoyed the experience of visiting Sawbo. Service can be a bit slow sometimes, although this is generally because they have a lot of customers, and they take their time with them. I feel that my continued custom is valued, which is the total opposite of pretty much every non-BMW bike shop I've rung or visited, where the customers get treated like nameless rubes, to be fleeced with as little effort and engagement as possible.

As my mangled bike sits there with them, i hope all this works out to be right! :P

So far they have been very helpful and efficient!

The only downside I've found so far is that they are booked out for a long time before being able to mend my bike, which I've now had for 3 weeks, and had 2 days use out of it... :banghead: :(

Service with a smile...while they take my cash!!!

SBW, top blokes and blokesses, only complaint is their bloody coffee, vending machine shite, I'd rather drink my old sump oil!

Perversly, they make paying for service etc... a pleasure!
