Scala G4 and audio upgrade

I have just bought an upgrade audio kit for my Scala G4. This is the helmet mount made for the G9 but also works for the G4. As it has bigger speakers the audio quality is supposed to be a bit better and I have a second helmet I would like to use it on.

The first one arrived but there was a problem on the right hand speaker with a lot of distortion. Nevermind say the nice vendor, we will send you another one. The other one arrived today and...you know what's coming don't you....yes, the right hand speaker has exactly the same problem with distortion on the replacement unit. It's the same on Bluetooth as it is on the stereo cable and using seperate Zumo and MP3 players as sources. Its so bad it really is unuseable. The standard G4 mount I already have is working perfectly on both speakers.

So my question is, has anyone on here successfully upgraded their G4 with the new updated mount and does it work, specifically on the R/H speaker and without distortion? I'm thinking I've either been unlucky with two duff units or there's something fundementally wrong with the new mount and G4.

We are aware of a small batch of G9 audio kits that may exhibit a static hiss similar to what you experienced with certain G4 modules. I have passed your email and contact information onto our sales rep in the UK and either she or our UK distributor will be in contact with you next week to assist in obtaining a G9 audio kit that doesn't have this problem with your G4 module. I believe that she is off on Monday so it may not be until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week before you hear from someone. Sorry for the inconvenience. Your patience is appreciated. Did you get anywhere regarding this?

I bought a G4 in Feb and the right speaker has stopped working. I've just sent them an email so will see how they respond.

I'm talking to the UK distributor who so far don't seem to be understanding the issue despite sending them the entire email trail with Cardo. Still, early days yet. So your clear, my G4 is working fine with the standard mount (must be 2 years old at least), the problem was with the G4/G9 audio upgrade kit I bought (had 2, returned 2 - full refund). The right hand speaker in both cases was very distorted. Will post up when I get a solution or not.
