Has anyone fitted a Scala G4 into a Shoei Multitech, using the clamp?

Or, has everyone used the glue pad method?

As the gap between the helmet's outer and inner shell is bloody tight, is it even possible to use the clamp? If so, how?

Many thanks for any help, hints and tips etc. etc.

Velcros

Hi!

We use a G4powerset and a q2 headset. Since we have 4 kids, each with a helmet for its own, I found it rather annoying and time-consuming, to change the clamp each time. Then I tried to fix the glue pad betwenn the outer shell and the cusion without removing the glue-pad-cover. Not a good idea, because vibrations might (and did) loosen the construction. Then I attached velcros to each helmet and to the glue pad of headset. So far, it seems to work fine.

As far as I remember, 3M-velcros are the best.

Greetz,

Alexander

Hi all :thumb2
l want to clamp a Scala G4 onto a Shoei Multitec, was looking through the threads to see if anyone else had the same problem & got a solution.

Wapping did as above, but l was not so keen on the velcro solution & the glue pad that came with it - l reckon would'nt last long.

l've clamped the G4 to a Caberg and my Arai GT no problem, but my multitec aint having it.
l'd need to split the liner's glue from the hard shell to slide clamp plate up inside!!!. Would you?, would this compromise my helmet/head ?? l'm tempted to do it. would appreciate any help.:)

Cheers Jim

The glue patch thing that comes with the kit is bloody sticky. It will NOT come off in a hurry.

Good quality velcro will do it too, for sure.

Since sticking mine onto a new Multitech, I had a good look at my old Multitech, before binning it.

I think it would be quite safe to pull the inner expanded foam away from the hard outer shell. Not least because:

(a) The gap would not be very big.

(b) The gap would not run / get bigger.

(c) The hard outer shell is mostly cosmetic, to give the helmet a smoooooooooth surface.

It is what I would do if I did it again.
