Scala Rider and System V Helmet

Greetings

I have the TTR2 and the Scala Rider Headset. The only problem is that the Scala rider seems to be totally unsuitable for use with a BMW System V helmet.

Has anybody found a way of attaching the unit to a System V or does anybody use a different bluetooth solution.

If you cut a slot in the lining to allow the bracket to pass through on the inside it fits ok.

Position it quite far forward then take the foam end off the microphone. Run the boom up under the cheek pad cover. I ran mine like this for ages with good sound quality, although not as good as the Autocom I'm now using.

How did you get it to connect to the lid. The cushion prevents it. A pic would be cool if you have one.

Sorry, can't send you a picture as I've now replaced mine with Autocom.

However, the rim "cushion" (sounds a bit rude!) can be pulled out a bit from its locating groove and the Scala mount slotted underneath.

I slotted my System 5 but in an email today from Cardo they tell me they now have an adhesive fitting for helmets with neck skirts. They offered me one FOC but its a bit late now. Try emailing them.

 

[What Speed Limit]

I have a system 5, I use it only on the Island, 1, because I can't get dark visor for it unless I go to Europe , and 2, I can't fit the Scala Bluetooth headset in, so I use a Arai RX7 TT Centenry hat instead with clear and dark visors and pinlocks so I can see where i'm going.

Also the System 5 hat is too darn heavy for long journies, I must admit, it is the quietist hat I have. you can fit a boom mike in it, but I am not sure if you can get them from Scala to be compatible with the Tom Tom Rider?

I took Andyclifts advice and emailed Cardo. Didn't get a reply. Customer service, nil points. I dug out an old Caberg V2 lid and it fits that perfectly. Its a seriously noisy helmet so I only use when a trip with the Tom Tom is absolutely necessary.

I agree about the System 5. It is quiet but heavy. You really notice the weight on an ST when you are leaning over. It is a lot more comfortable on the GS which is why I would like the Scala on board.

I had the same problem with my Schuberth C2 - tried emailing Cardo a few times - a waste of time, they simply don't respond.

I've just got one of the Scala XL helmet brackets (£29.99 delivered from www.truebluetech.co.uk) that not only has a longer boom for the mic but also has an adhesive fixing pad as an option to the screwed on bracket.

I'll be using the original bracket in my Tour X.
