Good day lads,

I'm looking into getting a diagnostic tool that will support my K25 but at the same time, I don't want to limit myself to that specific model so I would love a tool that's capable of working on the newer models as well.

I'm saying this because of course the known tool is the GS-911 but as far as I know there's a model for the older models and another one for the newer and should I upgrade my GS in the next year or two, I don't want to have to reinvest on the tool.

I'm interesting of being able to diagnose the bike, clear the service light, etc... don't have any specific requirements to connect the tools, so either USB, Bluetooth or WiFi works for me just fine.

Any recommendations? Any shops where to buy?

Much appreciated,
Rami

The newer GS911 USB will work, with adapters, on all models even very old ones. Check it out.

AFAIK other tools will do not give as much access as the 911, i could though be wrong.

Nice one! Yeah, I'll give that LX tool a go... much cheaper and seems more flexible as well as I'm not limited to only bikes. GS-911 is just too confusing I think with different versions, out-dated websites and resellers, a bit of a nightmare. Surely works great, but I can buy 3 LX for the same price and use it through Bluetooth on multiple devices with no limitation on hwo many vehicles I can use it on.

That's the theory at least, let's see how it goes :)

Cheers,
Rami

That’s interesting- also appears that the ELM327 works with the K25 if you buy the OBD to 10pin round plug adaptor, if I’ve read that correctly ?
I’ve already got an ELM327 ( not the latest version mind) just thinking I’d be able to reset my service indicator just by buying the cable ?

Best of luck ;)

I tried with my ELM327 using a OBDII connector and latching onto the relevant pins in the 10 pin connector

whilst it might work, withought the relevant SW it was as much use as a housebrick :)

Exactly, I think it gets down to the software. Motoscan if you can plug that in to your phone/tablet via WiFi or Bluetooth.

Cheers,
Rami

Lads, just got the tool from the site above... fast shipping, good communication over email, I'll definitely recommend.

The scanner works flawlessly and even purchasing the full version of the software that comes at 50 bucks it is still 50% cheaper than GS911 and you can use this with other vehicles as well, it's a win-win.

Now, I don't have to go to the dealer at all. Happy out :)

Well worth subscribing to the forum now, you saved more than 12 quid........:hippy

I don't see the value on subscribing to be honest, I only use it every now and then (as you can see by my 160 posts in the past 2 years).

That's more than one and a half posts a week, then there's the vast amount of information that you have received, and saved £££££££££££££. Or Euros in your case.

If we all thought like that, there would not be a site to view.

You cannot cure a scrooge..........:rob

Ah yes, you can't beat the convincing marketing of bullying someone on doing something they don't want to do...

LOL

A for effort lads :)

PS: last time I checked it's a free forum with the option of becoming a premium member which grants you additional access/benefits, not mandatory at all.

And still, the forum makes money out of me using the free site with the ads which should be more than enough to cover the costs of the hosting.

But anyways, you folks do what you've to do, happy for you.

It is actually nothing to do with bullying, its just about giving a little back to keep the site running, I have saved hundreds of pounds, because of the good free advise of the members here, and also just in the for sale section being able to sell to good people and buy from good people, now if you just like to take, then that is your choice, I know my choice next time you ask for help on an issue. :rob

Look around my posts, most of them are trying to help others. And again, by me visiting the site it's making money out of ads...

If your help requires money, then it's not really help, it's a service.

You get your monies worth with the sale section, which is part of the premium package, you're getting value for your money. I don't use the forum all that much, have no interest in the premium section and thus I see no reason to pay. And I honestly don't see why I should be bullied into it, don't want to help me? Don't. Don't see any problems with that...

If payment is a requirement, make it so. If not, as an optional service, let it be optional. If you bully people out, the forum is losing money. Again, I bet ads bring more than enough to keep the lights on.

Have a good night bud.
