ok - smarty pants's ..

Can this even be done ?

I've got a printer working and available to 3 computers on the network

2 being wireless laptops - but no worries.

however - can i get my scanner to be found by the laptops ? Nope .

Is it network-able ? :nenau

its USB off the main PC if that helps.

I have a scanner on the main PC at home and save all the files to a folder that is shared out to the other PCs. To do a scan you have to go to the main PC but at least you can access the results from anywhere.

Me suspects that scanners can't be shared like printers, must have read it somewhere :mmmm

Scanners can certainly be networked, but need to be either built for the job with an internal network server device, or be attached to the network through a standalone server such as the HP JetServer or JetDirect (which is how our all-in-one device is networked).
