getting a new helmet andcant decide between c2 and c3.
obviously a big price difference so is the c3 worth £430 as opposed to £230 for the c2?

Bought a C2 about 18 months ago, within 5 months it had been sent away for repair 3 times and i rejected it on the grounds it was not fit for purpose.
Would not recommend any Schuberth helmet.
Incidentally i thought that the c2 wasnt made any more, it could be old stock.

Just bought a C3 in fluorescent yellow in Andorra ... €349. Ave Santa Coloma has several m/c accessory shops. If you were thinking of a summer bimble through the Pyrenees, it would make for a lovely ride and a worthwhile shopping spree. On the other hand, I believe the prices quoted on their website include shipping.

i think the c2 is an old model but can still get new ones.
however i dont fancy the price of a c3,
will have to keep looking for one that someone doesnt like and wants to sell

Had the C2's for several years, had about three of 'em, but the C3 is far better :thumb

Main difference ...

1) It's about half a pound lighter than a C2 :thumb
2) Dead simple to fit speakers if you have Autocom etc.

I wouldn't go back to a C2 and I've had no reliability issues whatsoever :thumb

Worth the money ... depends how important such things are to you. Worth every penny to me :rob

the sizing confuses me also
my arai large is 59/60 cm

If you haven't tried the Schuberth C3, I wouldn't risk ordering one over the Internet. I tried one in Keary's, Cork, before we called autoracing.com to find out whether they had the size I wanted in stock. The guy on the phone was very sceptical as to whether it would fit me properly as he had had a number of complaints about the sizing and mould shape. That said, I'm delighted with mine.

is the sizing the same as bmw system helmets? i am in the local dealer this week so could try one

C2

C2 is way too heavy, I also found the neck scarf too tight and contrary to the blurb is not particularly quiet.

However I loved the inner tinted visor, no longer use mine, but kept it as a spare.

Bought the BMW system 6 love it, it's light and comfortable no noiser than the Schuberth and has the inner tinted visor which I find much better than having the wear sunglasses.

Why bother trying a BMW helmet if you intend to buy a C2/C3. Find a local Schuberth stockist and try on the helmet you are considering buying :nenau

my C3 is the worst bit of biking equipment I have ever bought. It fogs in all weathers and is virtually unusable in wet weather, the left ear phone in the SRC (which is also crap) has stopped working, the plastic clip that holds the internal sun visor has broken, it has already been sent off for a leaking top vent (noise and air flow when in closed position) and is very loud. Added to this after 25k miles it feels as well made as a £30 helmet from Lidl.

If you don't do many miles none of the above may matter but it really is an inferior product sold at premium money.

I have a C3 for sale as it doesn't fit my curiously shaped head as well as my Enduro.

Couldn't see the Schuberth size but BMW size is 59/60.

PM me if interested.

I've bought four Schuberths over the years - C1, C2, S1 and S1 Pro - as they fit my square Germanic head perfectly.

The C1 and C2 have both been good helmets except for their visor sealing. The C3 looks to have a much better visor than the C2 and I'd buy one for that reason alone.

The S1 was quiet, well made, had a great visor seal (never leaked even after hours in the rain), but was stuffy in hot weather and it misted up in cold weather at low speeds (like most lids).

The S1 Pro has all the good points of the S1, but is much better ventilated (comfortable in 30+ degree C temperatures in Europe last summer) and it doesn't mist up thanks to the standard fitmetn Pinlock :thumb2 I'd definitely buy another.

For what its worth, here's my two 'penneth, I've had a C3 for 2 1/2 years and have ridden about 5500 miles with it,an absolutley superb helmet, very comfortable, reasonably quiet and has never leaked.Unfortunatley the visor needs replacing and the sun visor operating mechinism has got a bit tired and is now difficult to use, which I think, considering its age etc, is excellent service. I replaced it with another C3 yesterday.I did, out of interest look at a Shoei flip front for comparison,I think that the Schuberth is streets ahead in quality, fit, and, of course, has the sun visor, which I now consider essential.

if the sun visor mechanism is worn after only 5500 miles it shows how crap they are

Brought a C3 last week from the BMF rally £250.00 !! I have used it every day since then and so far so good ! Well pleased with it.
