I have been offered a Schuberth C4 helmet from a friend who has only worn it once before selling his bike!
Not tried it on yet but are these helmets any good. Done some research and varied comments that C4 is not a good progression from the C3 etc.
Anyone got one and what do you think?
Red and white colours match my new bike! :blast

I have a C3 and have been really pleased with it. I would say that for me, it's a little bulky around the neck at the front and unless I get it sitting exactly just so it can be a little uncomfortable when doing shoulder checks etc. It can be very comfortable if I take a little care when putting it on and it's very well sealed and warm. I use ear plugs with any helmet so can't comment on it's noise levels, every helmet I own is quiet because of that.

I know you asked for C4 opinions and I have read mixed reviews about it but this may help you, it's fairly objective. https://www.motolegends.com/reviews/Schuberth-C4-Pro-helmet-review

I have however recently come across this newer C5 in a similar colour scheme to which you describe and I think this would be great lid if not a little expensive perhaps. £599 from Helmet City

Avoid !!!!

Only bought one as many on here rated Schuberth.
It was utter shite. The gap in the pin lock visor was so big I had a huge bug climb in mine . The visor leaked . The comms was inaudible .It was noisy.
Worst helmet I’ve ever owned.
Got rid and bought a Neotec 2

As with a lot of things, if it works for you, fine. No one can tell you how a lid will work for you.
Suck it and see.

A basic C4 Legacy I wouldn’t bother unless he’s basically giving it away because you’ll be replacing it in no time at all.

If it’s a C4 Pro which is the upgraded model then that’s a much better helmet.

Not looking good then…
I take it then that the Legacy is the basic model and the Pro is the better, higher quality helmet?
The C5 can wait until thoroughly tested at that price…

Yes.
The Pro model was rushed out to fix the numerous faults of the original.

I have C4 legacy and pro, have no problem, you must try to be sure, all helmet fit head different, I make many km,s no problem with visor, you can be lucky it is friend so can try.

It's structurally a very good helmet - but it has issues as per the Motolegends review.

You might want to replace the original visor with a new visor from the Pro model, with the relevant Pinlock 120 insert. Also, the microphone placement makes for shite audio at anything over about 50 mph - but if you don't need comms that that's not an issue. Other than that, the cover on the chin vent tends to drop off, but can be easily fixed with a bit of double sided tape.

IIRC, they also upgraded the lining in the Pro version to something a lot plusher.

I have tried it on this morning and it is a little tight, so I am going to pass.
He did say the Pro was a much better lid.
Thanks.
