I have a Schuberth E1 which I have "debeaked" (mentioned in a different helmet thread). I have now noticed that when riding along with the visor up, it cannot maintain its position and, reasonably often, droops down. its fine when i am travelling at relatively slow speeds, but once the wind hits the helmet at 45-50mph+, down she comes.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this is? Is the visor "worn out" and needs replacing, hence the sag? Is there some mechanism in the helmet that can be tightened up to keep the visor up?

Any help is appreciated.

My C3 has started doing this....I suspect it is a worn out visor so will order a new one in due course...

well, ive ordered a new visor at £46, and will see if that fixes it. A friend with a C3, says his went like that, so perhaps a new visor will sort it.

I received and fitted a new visor to my C3Pro yesterday.....anything above 60mph and the visor still slams shut. It's shite

Ah, mine is the C3Pro not the E1 (The OP has the E1) and if it came with a bag of bits....the bag is with those missing odd socks and such like....long lost. I see I can get new mechanisms for about €15 so worth trying.

C3 pro and E 1 are the same shell and same visor mechanism, only difference is the E1 visor has a cut out in the pivot area to mount the peak

Thanks for that Neil, I'll have a root thru my plumbing box and find an o-ring and see if it works the same.

When the E1 first came out I was talking to a Tranam rep and he had what looked like a Schuberth Streetfighter style helmet which was actually an E1 with the peak removed and fitted with a C3 pro visor
