Hello I have been given foc a Schuberth helmet unfortunately the moulded micro usb plug has been pulled of could any one tell me the pinout connections as the unit wires are coloured Brown, red, orange, yellow, black in that order. The USB replacement socket wire colours are red, white, green, black in that order. I need to know which of the schuberth units wires go to which on the replacement usb socket. Unfortunately I have not got anywere with the suppliers appart from replacing the whole unit.
Thanks for any help

if the usb connection is only requiredfor charging then you only need 2 of the wires connecting. usually the red and black wires are the power supply. at the circuit board end attatch a multimeter to the conections either side of the row of conectors where it was previously attached and see if there is power there, if there is then bingo solder the wires in place (make sure you have the correct polarity).

Please note I have abolutly no formal training in electical dohickys so if you follow my advice and it fucks up dont blame me. I have had many succeses and a few spectacular failures with my method of poke it and see:thumb2

Thanks for your advice no on my own head be it. Strange though it is it seems when I put a meter across Brown and black wires from the unit it appears that the black is carrying +volts not Brown. The wires as far as I can tell were black on pin1 and brown on pin 5. If it doesn't work well I've still got the helmet and yes the other wires were just data wires for any software updates.

Unpick the stitching and see which wires go to the battery.

Hi Smug the unit terminates in a multi wire socket imbedded in a board I'm just going to try by elimination if it goes poof the unit cost me nothing
