I will be after a new helmet in the not too distant future.
My old Schuberth R1 http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/schuberth-r1/was a nice helmet compared to me previous Roof 010. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/roof-helmet/roof-lema So they are my personal benchmarks.
So, how useful is it to have a flip up helmet in reality. I wear glasses incidentally. helmet must be able to have Pinlock system.
Has anyone owned both and would care to comment.
What alternatives are there out there. I know that just because it's expensive, it's not necessarily a better helmet than others. But the quality of the Schuberth is better than that of the Roof.
As a far cheaper option there is the Caberg Ego. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/caberg-ego/review.htm
I obviously would need to try any helmet on, as I remember trying on a helmet in Infinity, as soon as I dropped the flip up down, I removed it. The helmet just felt flimsy and cheap.
Pays your money and takes your choice.
No comments about £100 helmets for £100 heads either. I've read enough bike magazines to realize that fit is most important. Also seen in Ride magazine some cheap helmets outperforming dear ones.
I can't find a review from the above web site for either of the Schuberths.
BMW system 6 perhaps?
