Scoots In The Sahara Update thread

The team is now tucking in to Jim McShoutys beer round that just arrived with Jason and Jez.
What a superb gesture, and really appreciated no doubt. Well done Mr McShouty. :thumb

All the team deserve a medal for their sterling work. :bow

Just come across this picture, i thought the memory card was empty. Nearly lost it.

In Tantan, waiting for the van to be fixed

oblertones latest text..........direct from his cell???

...slight problem with a parachute flare and a forest fire to celebrate our departure. Cost me a severe bung to the chief of police!!

The boys are stranded....

Bit of an alarming call last night...apparently the team had been on a jaunt over the river by ferry to watch some hippo and croc's... they were a little late getting back for the last ferry and one of their vehicles wouldn't fit on.. therefore Bill and MrIFan volunteered to vehicle sit overnight in a less than salubrious neighbourhood, where after half an hour they had already been offered some rather interestingly attired ladies to keep them warm for the evening...

On a particularly sad note it appears that Bills laptop and camera were stollen a few days ago, with most of the teams photos for the trip loaded onto it... I didn't want to labour the point, but I could sense the feeling of loss.. :(

Looks like its all still a big adventure filled with highs and lows... :)

Hot off the press..........

Midnight at Bristol Airport....

Charles, Speggo and meself arrived back in Dartford at 4.30, and many thanks again to Clive for bringing us half way across the country and then Tom (Novice ) for bringing us the rest of the way.....great to be back though it's bloody cold.....this afternoon we were sitting in Gambia drinking large G&T's waitung for the flight and now it's minus 4 and we're home.

We'll post more later and it looks like it's going to take some time to read through the threads, but we're all safe and should all be tucked up in our own beds soon....apart from Chuck who's got another day's travelling to get back up to Hawick.

Teach me to reply to threads when I am half pissed :D

Good to meet you all and sorry I was not so talkative .. I was trying to focus and stay awake :D

Thank You

It seems inadequate but needs to be said anyway; so many people have assisted in our little adventure that to list them would risk missing someone out. From the original idea to the final lift home, your response has consistently exceeded our expectations and typifies the spirit of generosity that abounds in this place. We rode the scoots, but you made it happen and can rest assured that your actions and contributions made a significant difference in some lives. So to all those who provided help, be it moral, physical or financial; a great big thank you from this TIT !

Thanx all very much for all the good wishes....back for one huge reality check now....washing machine on meltdown mode....Tescos needs visiting...pleasantly surprised on how well they've coped without me (put me down for next year, in that case, Bill..:)..)....hot showers..( oh, yes!!!!)...and hair straighteners heating up as we speak...:)....glad everyone made it home safely...let us know when you're back Charles....thanx again to everyone whose help has made this happen....it's been funky.... :bounce1 ....oh, and don't forget the malarone, Gents.....xx
