Opinions please.. are they a good addition or should I save up for a Akro? I want a sweet burrble from the exhaust and not something tooo loud

Ultimately - there will be no difference in performance - it's just a simple can.
I've had Scorpion cans on my last two R1200GSA - in order to fit symetrical MetalMule pannier racks. The Scorpions I had were slimline models and I couldn't fault either.
Save up for an Akro if you want - but all you are getting is the badge.
To he honest - if it wasn't for the need for a slimline can - I'd just stick with the stock system/can. Get the bike re-mapped at Hilltop Motorcycles instead?

As Al says you will be paying for the badge with an Akra can. Another option besides Scorpion is Beowulf and they make a lovely burble.

Another option - Dutch BOS can and pipe - comes with a proper bracket. Beowulf hangs on a wrap round strap.

I also only went for the Scorpion to fit symmetrical MM panniers. Seemed quite quiet which suited me well. The received wisdom seems to be, for performance improvement, the headers need upgraded. If I didn't have the MM, I doubt if I would bother changing the can. However, motorcycles are very personal things, and if you fancy a different can just go with what makes you happy. Oh, just remembered; Scorpion may give a very long warranty - worth checking.

I went for a used Akra system with all the Ti twin can shotgun bollox, because I like the look. But as folks say it will make zero difference to performance even with a remap.
The advantage of a narrow silencer, as @BrokenPaw says is with a different angled connector pipe you can tuck it in parallel to the tyre and use a full size pannier case on both sides of the bike.
The strap on mount as used by Beowulf (and Akraprovic) isn't such a bad idea. The system to move and flex rather than crack the can or the mounting bracket. Downside is straps can scratch the shine if grit gets under the rubber sleeve.
