Out of Muir of Ord- A832 Kinlochewe; A896 Torridon; then Fearnmore; Cuaig; Cruary- took us past the Walled Garden then up Applecross…

I was meant to be up there this week. Not sorry to miss todays weather but wish I was off exploring and not stuck at home

Riding North from Applecross early on a sunny morning along the coast road is one of the best views of the west of Scotland. You were given a good steer there ... and I've always preferred going up the Bealach na Ba than coming down.

If you can find the time to divert over towards the Summer Isles, that is also worth a look.

Next year… it was the first time with Mrs H and she loved every second so we’ve already agreed to do them next year.

Yes indeed. I’d ordered one on advice from the members on here….. unfortunately it didn’t arrive before we set off but it’ll be invaluable for next year’s trip.

That’s the one- I was cutting it fine as I ordered it on a weekend with the trip departure for the Wednesday- and there was no “next day” option.. it’ll be a good read and I’ll reconcile the Motorrad saved journeys with it over a brew.

The Ceilidh Place in Ullapool (excellent wee hotel and food n drink) has a very good bookshop. They might just have a copy.
