The road from Fort William to Mallaig is a fantastic road and well worth exploring. I always stop at the Applecross campsite which is lovely or the Applecross inn if you want to go posh. The food there is spectacularly good and famous for miles but book a table for dinner. A spin round Skye is also well worth the time. There's a great bunkhouse as Sligachan that I can highly recommend just under the Black Cuillins. Jealous...

Do not miss the A816 south from Oban

i did a great route with a Scottish Bikers forum that did this road and Loch Fyne in 2013 when I was working at Muirfield.

On a good day its one of the best roads in the uk IMO
