What's the time limit in Scotland for issuing/receiving NIP's? In England it's 14 days, but is it different in Scotland?

I got flashed in Edinburgh doing about 60mph in a 50 limit (motorway). I haven't received an NIP and it's now into the 15th day since the incident.

They don't issue NIP in Scotland, They send a man in a skirt with his face painted blue and a big Sword in his hand to your place of work where he then chops various bits of your anatomy off depending on the severity of the speeding.
In your case 10 MPH over the limit would suggest, looking at the Tarriffs, a thumb and 2 big toes !!

Its the same legislation throughout the UK. 14 days to serve it at the registered keeper's last known address. 15 days is a bit too soon to celebrate because all they have to do is send it out so that under normal circumstances it arrives within 14 days. If it is delayed in the post it is usually still valid. They usually get them out fairly quickly however and there are not cameras in every box. Was it the 50 limit box below the flyover near the airport by any chance?

I'll have to have a gander at a map to identify exactly where I was, but I was on a final stretch of M9 heading back to Edinburgh from Sterling. The camera flashed me, so I'll see if Mr Postman brings me a gift in the next few days.

I think it was this one, just after the airport and at the end of a long 13 hr ride and at night time!

Do they not have to flash twice as in take two pictures to work out your speed over the white lines on the road.

Hate heading north of the border unless I am in my old Audi, set the cruise control 2mph less than the limit and sit back and relax, the a697 north of Cornhill is just as bad every place you can get in a safe overtake the tw##s have put in a 'road safety camera', my arse it is a 'money making camera'

Ah yes, that looks very much like the one between the Airport and Gyle roundabouts...? So nearly got caught by that one when I lived up that way - it's right in the dip in the road.

Anyway, not that you'll need it for this one (60 in a 50 is hardly a jail'able offence), but a handy chap to know for future reference is http://www.scottishdrivinglaw.co.uk/

That one is long gone. The one he's posted about is on the M9 from Stirling, at Newbridge on the underpass of the rounabout that joins the A8, Glasgow road with the A89.

That camera will definitely have a film in it. Its the camera we are using to finance the new Forth bridge.
