Scottoilers

Blue oil.

I contacted Scottoil, who replied, as below:

"It's possible you have small piece of swarf blocking the slow flowing
leg. This could be the result of some excess flashing from the sonic
welding process used to join the two halves together. This is normally
picked up on during production. You could try feeding (by hand) a 1mm
drill bit down the leg to a depth of 20 - 25mm to clear and blockage or
send it to us here at Scottoiler and we'll send you out a replacement
within a couple of days."

I think I'll return it to them.

Have one touring kit in the garage available if anyone is interested. Although bought used never fit it and it seems complete with lots of bits in original box

My experience of Scottoiler's customer service is that it's second to none.

Also, having met him on a couple of occasions, Fraser Scott, the inventor is a genuinely nice guy. ISTR that he's now c. 70 years old and is riding a Multistrada and a Bandit having previously been on a VFR. Last time I met him, we bumped into him in the Glasgow Science Museum and he stood with us talking for ages about his latest developments.

Well I poked a 0,7mm drill through the offending side, no swarf came out:(

Then I decided to reroute the oil feed pipe. I originally had this running upwards from the reservoir, this included two loops of pipe, one of about 100mm diameter , and another of about 40mm diameter.(both higher than the reservoir) I've rearranged it so that it only briefly goes up from the reservoir. Took it out for a short spin, appears initially to be flowing more oil. I'll see next week on the commute.

Fitted one to a Pegaso after first chain lasted 4000miles approx, second had had one adjustment by 14,000 !

However have found one problem mate had one fitted on his VFR and did not adjust his chain for over 15,000 miles and when he did adjust it the adjuster cam had seized from lack of use! we had to strip the lot down and lube it all up.

otherwise fantastic piece of kit highly recommended

Had 3 of these in the past - 2 dealer fitted, 1 by me.

All random. Best was basically worked most of the time, but never fit and forget save for top ups.

OK for weekend work, but for commuting, they just never worked reliably enough.

In the end went for a MX manual one - just turn on and turn off drip onto chain - best by far.:nenau

It's still crap. I put the standard single feed on the bike. Seems to be better, so I'll be sending the twin injector back. If I'd known that I was going to get this shit, I'd have gone for what Bigtwin said.... although until he posted, I didn't.
