Before I put the new decals onto my tank I'm thinking I should maybe get the scratches sorted. I should probably post a picture, but essentially is the top lacquer that's been scratched, not the paint underneath. Just on one side, but close enough to the decals I can see it would be better to fix when they're off.

Is there an easy way to fix this or do I really need to get down to a paint shop? Could it be done in a day for example by a competent paint shop?

I'm not great with auto paint things, mechanics and materials I'm at home with!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Depends on original colour and if the lacquer "makes" the colour. And that's the total sum of my paint knowledge :D

The tank is black. Looking at it, i think the lacquer is clear...
