Had an odd thing today, went for a bimble having not used the bike for some time, all well at first, (ear plugs in !) then stopped at Adventure Bike shop (always worth a visit) and when ~I went to start bike the pump made a more metallic sound, she I pulled away there was a screeching type of sound, only seemed to happen a lower speed but then became fairly constant, thought it might be bearing (Clutch) but no different clutch in or out, thought it might be abs ring but plenty clearance, sounds like it's coming from tank area so wondering if fuel pump on way out? anyone experience something similar:confused:??

Ah! Re-tension or replace? last done approx 3 yrs ago, assume can't lube! Cheers John B

How the feck would i know. Have a look and see if it's in one piece or shreaded. :D

Take the old one with you when you buy a new one as there are two sizes, and never try lubricating a belt, makes it slip even better!.

Thank you for replies, I am to mechanics what Gengis Khan was to diplomacy:D, I'll whip the cover off and have a look! Cheers:beer jug:John B

If it is the belt then the size should be on it. Mine is a 4PK611, don't let anyone tell you it's a special belt and therefore costs a lot. Just put that size into Goggle and see what comes up.
