Has anyone done a screen comparison, between OE std, Puig (about 1-2 inches taller) and the NN touring??
I have searched but can't find anything...

I have all 3 and I am trying the Puig at the moment... then I will try the NN... I already know that the std screen doesn't work for me.....

What works for one doesn`t work for another so it`ll be just opinions I`m afraid :nenau

MRA Vario is the best though ;)

Thanks... maybe a Vario next if these ones don't work!!:(

What about the Laminar Lip thingy? any good?

I am 5' 10 and use a Laminar lip with my 08 GSA. The screen is on it's middle setting and I can ride open faced (Flip Helmet) no problems uo to 85mph. I also use the nylon srews to attach the lip which requires drilling the screen but an easy task as long as you take your time and use the correct drill bits :)

I'm 6'2'' and have struggled to stop the buffeting (?) noise around my head at anything above 50mph on my 2008 GSA. My solution was a touratech lip, removing the "blobs" that prevent the screen adjusters to go all the way up and to fit tobinators ( had to bend my winglets using a heat gun but it's pretty easy).

Voilà! Now comfy with visor open up to 80 mph etc.....

I`ve got to ask but why do you lot ride with your visor up at 60 or so mph? do you not have flies and bees etc round where you live? Even when I`m on my bicycle I wear either clear on sun glasses as I`ve had flies in my eye before & can`t imagine the damage they`d do at 80 :eek
You`ve only got 2 eyes and you can`t grow them back :rob

LOL!

Did I say I ride without sun glasses!!? To be honest I don't do it that often, however, it IS a measure of how much turbulence you're getting - before I fitted the tobinators riding with the visor up over 50mph was so painful on the ears (and I wear ultimatear plugs) it'd make my vision blur! :eek

Now all is calm and serene....until the next :censor: pulls out on me of course :D

I have found that the NN High/wide screen is the best for me (6' 2"). I regularly ride using an open faced helmet and have no problems.

I have tried the Puig and it is certainly a lot better than the OE screen... I am 6ft tall and the Puig makes m'way crusing speeds acceptable...80+mph and very little buffeting/noise around the helmet...
Tomorrow, I am trying the MRA Vario.... Then if needed the NN one...

Oh you sound like me, 6ft also, I've got a t/tech screen extender, ok but not brill, got some tobinators on way to try but if no good I will try the NN tall & wide, with and without tobinators. I can't stand buffetting.

Oh hum..........:augie

How could they could design a 'go anywhere' bike that can't sit on a motorway!!!:blast
I hope the MRA will work, if so, I have a brand new NN and a Puig for sale......

If the MRA works for you, I'll av the NN (if its tall wide & clear send me a pm) off you then I'll have a brand new tourtech extender for sale, (unlockable) then if no joy i'll try the herr lip or whatever its called!

We'll get there sometime, I had the same thing with the varadero 1000 a couple of years back and solved it with the givi touring but I see they don't do owt for beemer, not gs anyway.

I'm picking up one of the just released new BMW 1200GS screens next week which apparently is 3" higher, 3" wider and allegedly has been wind tunnel tested by BMW.

Will report on the improvement hopefully after fitting next week.

I am back in New York next week and could possibly pick one up if there's any interest but it's a hassle to bring back. I could do one for £130 plus P&P but it's a PITA dragging it all the way back from the US.

See THIS thread on Adventure rider for details.

And no, they wouldn't do a discounted price in NY...
