Well, it’s been a month since acquiring my new bike, and overall I’m very pleased, a mute point is that the bond one wishes to attain with a machine which I’ve learned over the years (excuse me if I’m stating the obvious) is that much criticism can often be placed firmly in the lap of the rider, rather than with the minutiae of the machine, I hasten to add that in this respect I am no exception.
I think we’ve all become bored historically with many journo’s highlighting BMW indicators frazzling their brains Ad nauseam, I was somewhat concerned what some were saying about the quick-shifter, and yes, there is a knack to getting the best out of it; I have a great sense of satisfaction that I’ve now achieved this.
And, isn’t it that why we ride, in addition to the ‘Dopamine Rush’ the sheer challenge of getting the best out of our bike, and that I submit is the real challenge to attain a mindset that works in harmony with the machine, on your path towards motorcycling Nirvana and contentment..I have been guilty of trying to ride many bikes like they are not intended, Father forgive me I’ve long been weak, a slave to the Red Mist (have the metal in my leg to prove it) I’m much better nowadays, but I take it a day at a time.
So, I’m getting great pleasure from my R1250 but feel a smallish windscreen would be in order, any recommendations would be appreciated, my criteria is that I would accept less than wind protection perfect to not spoil the look of the bike, and want to avoid the online suggestions that some screens actually make matters worse for the rider.
It certainly needs something in that the very exposed TFT screen and area between the bars, was full of flys when dry, and mud when raining..Thanks in anticipation..
