SD card write protected

I have an SD card mb which has routes on it for my Garmin 500. I am unable to delete the routes as the card is write protected, i think i did this on my old pc.

How do i unwrite protetec it and use it again ?

I thought this would be easy but there is no password promt

Whatever you do, DO NOT SWITCH THE SWITCH. It initiates the self destruct.....
