Hi.
I would appreciate some advice before spending hard earned cash.
I’m about to buy a comfort seat for my -14 adv.
Which of these would have the closest semblance to a Corbin, considering design, and width? I have a Corbin on my old R 1100 GS and love it! Unfortunately they are shitty expensive...

My legs does reach the ground fine with the standard seat in the low position. The only time it’s borderline is when I set the ESA to passenger/full load mode.
I know that a wider comfort seat would make it slightly harder to reach down, but it should work anyhow.
My concern; Are any of these seats sloping forward? Would any one of them require the seat to be set to high front and low rear in order to work “properly”? That could be a problem...

Final question; is there any difference in actual seat comfort between the low and standard seats (apart from height of course).

/J

A low seat will have less padding by it's very nature.
The aftermarket seats tend to be wider and firmer and seats are a personal thing, what works for one may not work for another.
I have Sargent seats and find them good and they are flatter so I now have the riders seat set level whereas before the standard seat was set higher at the front .
I would try and see if you can sit on one before you spend a lot of money.

The Wunderlich and Touratech seats as well as the BMW branded exclusive seats (the two tone black and grey ones ) are all from the same factory . Made by KAHEDO in Germany.

They are better than the standard GSA seats in that they do not dig into your inner thighs when riding

I'll second that for the Sargent seat. <100 miles on the standard seat and my butt was squirming. 300+ on this no bother.

Wunderlich its wider but lower so still a stretch but fantastic just done over 1200 miles in 4 days wish i had bought one years ago

I don't know why BMW seem incapable of designing a comfortable seat for the GS range, the one on my 1150gs was a killer after less than a 100 miles, I could manage maybe 110 miles on my 2011 r1200gsa and the standard seats on both my 2014 gsa and 2018 gsa were almost as bad as those on the 1150.

Yet I can go out and jump on my 12 year old 650 versys and do 200 miles in one hit with zero seat issues and its foam is only 5 cms thick

I've got the standard 2017 R1200GSA Triple Black seat... and find it ok, but was thinking of treating myself to a Wunderlich Heated Seat.... just for the luxury of those few freezing early start mornings on otherwise a hot summers day. Only need the heated stuff for a couple of hours before your microwaved the rest of the day :D

But at £545..... thinking twice..... dunno

Hi. I somewhere heard a wild rumor that the triple black was delivered with the comfort seat as standard?

So Wunderlich is the wider of these two?
I need a wide seat for my wide ass, otherwise a nerve in my left thigh numbs badly after less than an hour in the saddle.

Sargent probably would be great, but I need to somehow limit the budget...
I’m thinking maximum is somewhere in the vicinity of 350€...
A Sargent delivered from UK would be around 460€

Take a ride to the Sargent warehouse in Brecon, you can try one out and they are slightly cheaper to buy from there £364, the roads are superb to ride too.

Ahh, fook it.

Ordered the Wunderlich Ergo Heated Seat from Nippy Normans.

I looked at the £10 carbon element heated seat kits, and they look good, but I also want to change my seat anyways. So no point doing this on the GSA. I might consider this kit for my Bandit 1250 and Africa Twin though.

Anyways, it better be bloody comfortable and look after me on cold mornings like it's life depends on it....

I dismissed Corbin Seats, as found too many bad comments on internet about bad quality etc. I dismissed Sargent Seats only because I prefer the look of the Wunderlich seats and reports I've read say either are as good as each other, so on that basis happy to go with what I like the look of.

Wunderlich don't seem to get many bad reports of the actual seat itself, only the rats nest cheap wiring that comes with it... but that can be upgraded if necessary.... and coming into summer I've got some time to sort that out.

I've been interested in upgrading my seat for about a year now..... not that the GSA Triple Black seat is uncomfortable, but on long journeys I tend to slide forward too much and not use the back part of the seat.... When I put the seat into the high front position, it makes the ride height too high.... so maybe this Wunderlich will give me that happy Goldilocks.

4 gsa adventures and 1 rally I’ve had seats custom built and had the rally seats been looking at wunderlich seats for years finally pulled the pin on high front and back and it’s brilliant no arse pains at all over the last 4 days and you don’t slide forward and the quality is I’m ordering the matching rear just so it looks right
Being tall was nervous with it being lower but the support you get is brilliant
