:) hi all,new member.Got a used black gs abs, heated grips, hand guards, engine gaurd the guy had to sell after 250mls because of some personal problems. His sad loss but my gain.Iv noticed that the seat is okay but going to France soon dont fill me with joy the thought of sore lower back and arse.It seems to me Melvins the man to sort it do the gel inserts make that much difference and what general mod should I ask for.I know this subject has been touched before.:beerjug:

I would try the standard seat first b4 changing it. personally ,I find it ok. Heres a good idea, Go to your nearest cycle shop and purchase gel filled cycle shorts.

donone,

Go for a few long rides on your bike and see how you get on with the standard seat - plenty of people find it OK. If you go looking for problems that haven't made themselves apparent to you on this bike, you'll end up going bankrupt!

I did France last year twice (about 7000 miles in total) and had no trouble at all with the standard seat. I suggest you try it out for a few trips and see what you think. It may be OK for you as well.

I have noticed that style of riding makes a big diffrence to the onset of discomfort - The twistys pass by far more painlessly than long dual carriageway hauls.

Mike O uses a sheep* for long trips and reckons that does the biz.
