Seat becoming unwelded

Last time I went in to the dealer I asked about my seat which seems to be unwelding at certain points. He immedeately told me he'd order another seat for me on warranty as what was happening wasn't normal... I told him to hold on that I'd use it a bit more to see if it got worse. I'd also rather substitute it later in the warranty!!

Anyway just wanted to share in case you have the same situation...

The seat on my F650GS is fine but I've noticed quite a few with rough edges along that seam including Katherine's (rin sun) and Pauline's.

rin_sun is awaiting a replacement low seat (under warenty) as hers is really tatty on the seems.

Does it only the lower seat or all variants?

Mine isn't a low seat... it's the standard one.

The low seat on my 650 is awful. It has not been finished off properly and you can see the stitching along the seams. ( I will try to take a photo later).

I mentioned it on handover and I am expecting to get a new one at the first service tomorrow.

I didn't get chance to take a photo of the seat, but it was replaced today FOC at the first service. It now looks fine
