has anybody tried removing the toolkit from under the seat to see whether it is more comfortable. I noticed that a couple of the wider tools make quite a hump under the seat and wondered whether on bumby roads this would be noticeable under the seat as a pressure point. tried it yesterday on a shortish ride and it seemed better. Not sure whether genuine improvement or my imagination, seat improving etc. If over time it does seem better then will have to learn to put tools away more in a tidier way or find somewhere to put the offending couple of tools. Would welcome anyones thoughts on this.

Seat Comfort....

1) Put your tools away properly....messy bugger.....
2) Get a bigger arse.....mine works perfectly....
3) The seat foam does soften considerably with regular use........
4) Several manufacturers are now offering 'comfort' seats.......
5) See (2) above....

Cheers

Quite agree with the comments about the Corbin R1200GS seat on the other forums.
Looks fantastic in all black carbon fiber leather and a chrome backrest. see http://www.corbin.com/bmw/r12gs.shtml.
Karen at Battistinis 08702 250404, certainly was on the ball at notifying me it was now out here in the UK. 10 out of 10. no numb bum for me anymore. Love it. Mines heated, but it can be supplied unheated. good luck!

How much for the Corbin seat???

Gerry

The Corbin seat via Battastinis is a rather mind boggling £329 for the rider and another £329 for the accountant who parks her arse behind mine, if you speak to the voluptuos Karen at Battastinis very nicely you might be able to illicit a 5% discount but don't hold your breath.:D

You don't want a corbin anyway. Too many quality control problems and bad customer service. There is another thread on corbin somewhere here and the comments were almost universally negative...

absolute rubbish, totally disagree. You need to try one for sure! Corbin is great!

Most BMW people in the US hate corbin seats due to poor fitting and bad service. I have use one for over 80k miles on an RT and loved it. I also had good service. They were very heavy on the RT, how do they compare to the stock BMW seat in weight? Must admit the seat looks very good. I intend to stop by the corbin shop in calif. next time I ride the GS west.

Cheers.
