seat hight?

Hi I'm thinking of buying a 2002 BMW 1150 GS ADVENTURE with 26000 miles the thing is I'm only 5ft10" tall would I be able to ride it seat hight wise? Are there any known problems with this bike which I need to look out for?

You would have been a bit small for a 15000 mile one, but the 26000 miler should fit you fine.

Do what myself and others have done. Fit a lower seat. Fit a standard length shock on the back. Wear stilettoes <s> and fishnet stockings <s/> .

You'll be fine except for a sudden urge to spend more and more time on your bike. Then you'll decide to go on a big tour and buy loads of extra kit. The time away and money spent will lead to domestics... and then you'll be blackmailed into buying a new kitchen... Or was that just me!

The adv does'nt have an adjustable seat joe only a low seat or the standard seat and is taller than the gs1150. Having said that i'm just shy of 6 foot and have an adv with the low seat, i can flat foot one foot, or both feet on the balls of my feet. Definitely try one before you buy i'd say, only you can know if you feel confident enough with the seat height.

Best year 2002! I'm 5ft 8.5ins and am very uncorfortable with the height of the adv seat. BMW must the the world is full of giants. I have the split seat off the 1150gs ,with 2 seat heights, at low i still cant flat foot the ground with both feet, you soon learn where to stop and park.

As a vertically challenged owner of the above steed I can confirm that it is at least "tricky" bringing one in to land safely,lol.. BUT you do get the hang of it pretty quickly, The bonus is that it does wonders for your forward planning and observation skills, improves them no end ,lol.. However it's only the parking /landing/ low speed operations that need concern you. Once it gets moving you'll find its a dream of a thing and well worth whatever additional brain work that is required..
Get one and go for it , well worth the effort believe me ..
