Always seemed odd to me that the adventure comes with a single-piece seat and the non-adv with the more versatile two part seat.

Is it possible to change the adv seat for a non-adv seat?

Yes, it's an hour or so's work with the right bits - do a search and you'll find plenty of threads about it.

The best way to do it is to find someone who wants to do the swap the other way (you need to change the rear rack and all the mounts).

Yes and there's plenty of threads in this section on how to do it and what parts you need

I've had 4 Advs and swopped to 2 piece seats on all of them

Yes

You have to swap racks from the 1150 GS & the seat mounts & locks too

I agree - they soon reverted back to a 2 piece seat set up on the 12 GSA & have carried on with the same on the new 12 GSA WC too

Seems the single seat on the 1150 GSA was flawed logic & is now confined to history

Oi, that's my bike! Vern racks and all.
C'ept for the two piece seat. . .

Thanks all - I'll have a search

No, but I fancy a change of seat and, since I rarely ride with a pillion, would rather have the extra luggage space

Be careful following that as your only logic.......I have tried solo seats but far prefer the ADV bench as I can move backwards and forwards easily which keeps me from getting cramped up on longer journeys.

An Ortlieb bag slung across the back will give you as much luggage space as you want.

You might want to have a chat with Den - he recently got all the bits together to convert his bike to an Adv seat set up. He might be open to flogging off the standard set up parts...

True

Some days I prefer the single bench seat and other days I like the 2 seat set up - however neither are oem BMW seats which are both horrible

On balance, I'd have the 2 seat set-up as it's more useful and incorporates the fully fitted toolbox

Yes, My seats have been changed more times than my undercrackers.
I do have all the bits to change (might be missing a bolt or two). Rack, missing grab rail though. fixing brackets, locking mechanism, tool tray, Virtually unused standard front seat, rear seat has had a wee bit removed neatly from front lip to fit with big corbin 'two-cow' seat. This leaves an inch gap where seats meet. It doesn't look bad.

Ive not thought of selling them because I like a change now and again, but if someone was desperate ... who knows!
Somebody suggest a value please.

Got a lot on at present, so this cant get priority treatment.

The Corbin rider's seat is actually set to far back for me to normally sit 'in' it, so generally sit right forward and up against the tank, the plus side of that is being able to slide back on big straight roads for a change of position and comfort:beerjug:

I remember being the perpetual odd one out on the 1150GSA seat.....I seemed to be the only one who ever found it perfectly comfortable whilst everyone else seemed to hate them :nenau

I don't even bother with a sheepskin anymore, and at the moment I'm on the bike 6+ hours a day

Perhaps BMW used your arse as a template :D
