Its called a stadium seat.. an inflatable pad that you would put on a hard plastic seat or bench. just happens to be a perfect size for the riders seat on an 11xx.

Already some good advice. My experience is the standard seat is a killer, the only "factory" seat that i have ever found comfy was the K100/1100LT "extra comfort" seat. The boxer ones of the 11/1150 generation are all crap in my 'umble op, inc the RT's (and yes i have ridden them all for long enough to find out!).
If you have it reworked get the upholsteror to give it a bit of bum shape for more support ie. dished a little. I have had two GS seats reworked, one with extra foam and one with gel insert; both were marginally better but still led to crippled arse symdrome after a day or two of big mileage. I then bought an Airhawk from the US and it is tons better (700 miles+ tested
) and can be taken to any bstrd bike you want! There are cheap alternatives mentioned in other posts and these are given the thumbs up.
So my opinion is to try an air cushion of some sort 1st to save you the faff of having the seat dismantled. It will also add a bit of height so you either drop the seat or have comfier knees

I found that the airhawk crushed my balls after a few miles so I sold it on this site.
Jeez... I didn't read that in the instructions! Mine is OK but I have it sat back a bit. Better than the old sprotsbike tank crush injury
